Twit Cleaner Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Twit Cleaner Chrome extension and its licensing service handle information.

Information handled inside your browser

When you deliberately use Twit Cleaner on X, the extension reads the active X page and visible timeline content needed to identify your own posts, replies, reposts, matching terms, preservation rules, and available controls. This can include visible post text, usernames, links, and page state.

That X content is processed locally in your browser. Twit Cleaner does not transmit post text, X usernames, profile content, browsing history, authentication cookies, or passwords to the licensing service.

Browser storage

The extension stores your cleanup settings using Chrome storage. Chrome may synchronize those settings through your Google account when Chrome Sync is enabled. A randomly generated installation identifier, an activated license key, and any deletion count waiting to be reported are stored locally in the browser. Removing the extension or clearing its data removes this local information, subject to Chrome Sync behavior.

Information sent to the licensing service

Over HTTPS, the extension sends the random installation identifier, a license key when supplied, and aggregate successful-deletion counts. These are used only to provide checkout, activate and validate a license, and enforce the Free daily allowance.

The service stores hashed installation and license identifiers, license status and tier, Stripe session and customer identifiers, webhook event identifiers, and aggregate daily deletion counts. It does not store the content or URLs of deleted posts.

Payments and service providers

Payments are completed on Stripe-hosted Checkout. Twit Cleaner does not receive or store complete card numbers. Stripe handles payment details under its own privacy policy. Cloudflare hosts the licensing service and database and may process ordinary request, security, and diagnostic information. Google may process synchronized extension settings when Chrome Sync is enabled.

Use, sharing, and advertising

Information is used only to operate, secure, support, and improve the features described above; process purchases and refunds; prevent abuse; and comply with law. Twit Cleaner does not sell personal information, use X content for advertising, or share browsing activity with advertisers or data brokers. Information may be disclosed when required by law or to the service providers described above strictly for operating the service.

Retention and deletion

Local extension data remains until you remove it or uninstall the extension. License and payment-reference records are retained while needed to provide the purchased license, prevent fraud, handle refunds, maintain accounting records, or meet legal obligations. Aggregate quota records and operational logs are retained only as reasonably necessary for operation and security.

To request access or deletion of identifiable licensing records, email hey@hugos.com.br. Include the email used at Stripe Checkout and the last five characters of the license key; do not email card details or passwords. Some records may be retained where required by law or needed to document a transaction.

Security

Data sent to the licensing service uses HTTPS. Persistent installation and license identifiers are hashed before database storage. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but reasonable safeguards are used and access is limited to operating the service.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure

Twit Cleaner's use and transfer of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Website content and browsing activity are handled only as necessary for the prominently disclosed, user-facing cleanup features.
